Last week the Berkhamsted & District Chamber of Commerce organised another local Networking even this time at Lussmanns Sustainable Kitchen & Garden in Berkhamsted High Street. We enjoyed a delicious meal surrounded by bubbles and refreshing mint tea’s. And I had the pleasure of sitting with some friendly familiar faces but also met with some lovely new businesses and people.
One person I met was Gordon Yearwood who was responsible for the design, planning and construction of The Hospice of St Francis. Naturally with my links to the construction industry itself combined with the fact the hospice is close to our hearts and we recently attended the Peter Spivey Golf Day to support the hospice it was a great pleasure to meet him. He talked in detail about his background and experience in construction, his part in the delivery of the hospice and about his future plans to support and push plans to build a new centrally located central to St Albans, Watford and Dacorum. Gordon spearheads the West Herts 21st Century Hospital Solution and is attempting to prove that a new hospital would benefit a growing population more than renovating existing services at Watford General.
It was a very insightful evening with good company and I look forward to the next one.
